The recent images of Christians and Muslims in Egypt holding hands in solidarity couldn’t help but give me a glimpse of hope. In fact, Muslims went a step further and created a physical wall of protection around the Christians as they prayed. Are these common occurrences? Is there less violence and more understanding – even protection – across diverse religious groups than we think? What role does the media play in instigating separation and/or solidarity? Oh, let it be true, that our brothers and sisters with diverse religious backgrounds see the benefit of coming together in peace.
